Camel's Back Park
Camel’s Back Park is an 11-acre (4.5 ha) urban park located in Boise, Idaho, and is managed by the Boise Parks and Recreation Department. The park features picnic tables, playgrounds, an outdoor gym, practice fields, and facilities for tennis and volleyball. It is located adjacent to the 63-acre (25 ha) Camel’s Back Reserve and the 292-acre (118 ha) Hulls Gulch Reserve.
The land for Camel’s Back Park and Camel’s Back Reserve was donated in 1932 by Bernard Lemp, the son of Boise pioneer and former mayor John Lemp, who served from 1875 to 1876. The park was officially dedicated in 1965.
In 2015, an outdoor gym was installed in the park by Bodybuilding.com. City planners later addressed erosion problems within the park in 2016. In 2017, a series of landings and stone steps were constructed at the top of the Camel Back Chute, the steepest section of the foothill trail access leading from the park.
Here is a local business that supports the community.
